A Special Messge =)

It is clear when we look around-from country to country even-to see we are not all dealt the same hand. This message is for those feeling like they may have been dealt a losing hand. This is not a blog to feed self-pity, ohh no. Au contraire..

The bible acknowledges this hardship giving us examples like Jephthah. Jephthah - by no fault of his own was the offspring of a concubine, and was unjustly shunned by his own kin because of it. His brother's hatred went so far as to drive Jephthah out of his hometown. Circumstances beyond his control forced Jephthah away from his people. He suffered as a result of someone else's decision and was thrust into life as an outcast. Jephthah's only crime? Being born. (Judges 11)

Jephthah's earthly circumstances were unfair, point blank, and the bible doesn't tip toe around that. But the story is not over. Unjust circumstances and prejudice didn't stop God from using Jephthah. God raised him up to be a mighty warrior, a great deliverer who would serve as a Judge over all of Israel. Although Jephthah made some rash & foolish vows, he is listed by God in the Hall of Faith that has lasted throughout the ages (Hebrews 11), because he was controlled by God's spirit, and in the end was a man of his word.

If you feel you can relate to Jephthah - this holiday season take heart. Remember that regardless how life's setup has seemingly stacked the cards, the Heavenly Father has had a plan to demolish the stack all along. ;-) Hold tight and do not grow weary. This setup is only a test. Pass it.

to the light

Have you ever noticed, regardless of how you position a potted plant in a windowsill, the direction in which it will inevitably reach?
"ALL living things look hopefully to you" Psalm 145:15 GNT

u 2 me

When I think on
All that you've added
Cannot contain my smile
Definition of blessing

Started with just hello
So authentic and innocent
Laughing and listening
We didn't have a clue

The plans that would be in store
The way that this thing would grow
The canvases we would paint
New colors that we'd create

For all that you've been to me
And all that you are to me
And all that you'll be to me
This one's for you

(addtl verse + chorus not shown).

The Power of One

ONE PERSON can CHANGE the WORLD.

We've heard it a thousand times. A phrase spoken so frequently and flippantly it's become cliche'. Nauseating even. It does sound so nice though, doesn't it? After all we're suppose to think happy thoughts. It makes us...feel better. What a cute..idea. Ahh...change the worlddd. Let's hug! [cue harp and doves]. But truly, when was the last time, if ever, that you contemplated the power in that sequence of words? Read it again.

One person can change the WORLD.

No, not like that, robot. Don't skim over it. Be not numb. Listen...

It takes just ONE PERSON to change the WORLD

OK. Ponder the massiveness of what you just said. You've said that a lot over time. Now, do you really believe that? I mean, the WHOLE wide world? As in, touch 7 continents and 6.8 billion people? Really? C'mon. Have you even tried to comprehend how many people 7 billion is? You fool. Ask anyone who chooses not to vote and undoubtedly hear, "I'm just one person. My one little vote isn't going to do anything." So, how is ONE PERSON going to alter the course of history?

So I was thinking, kind of wish I could ask these individuals, I wonder if they think one person can make a difference..
